Hand soap starter set

I really like this hand soap, my only concern is that it is a bit of a faff to make it, empty the sachet of powder into the bottle (have to be very careful not to spill any over the edge), then fill it with water, shake it. I'd much rather it came pre-mixed, maybe in the bottle itself or in a separate sachet (with a spout that nicely fits into the bottle neck). Otherwise, it is a really good soap, good degreaser, good cleaner, and smells great.

I like the soap since I am allergic to sulfates/fites/fures, and it just makes it difficult to wash my hands and them not feel like they are about to snap off from being brittle and fragile from regular soaps. I love it for this purpose. I am not 100% in love with the fragrance or the soap; it leaves a weird after smell, but my wife loves it! The only reason I am really marking it as a 4/5 star is that the soap gets clogged in the pump, and sometimes causes issues where it sprays all over my clothes and not on my hands when I use it. It could be the pump or it could be that it just gets thicker after more air exposure. Who knows. I am not confident that I would reorder in this specific fragrance, but I think I would order the soap again.So to sum it up, I think it is effective as a soap. I am indifferent to the value for the money since I am trying to find a product that works within my allergies. The texture is fine, other than clogging the soap dispenser, but I still think it makes my hands feel like they may need moisturizing after I use the soap.

this is a nice alternative to the big box refill jugs. i like the smooth feeling on my hands afterwards. the bottle is actually well made and brings the quality of the product up a notch. i read a few had some trouble mixing, but i guess that would depend on your physical stature. the more you're used to doing things, the less of a task this is. this will wash your hands off just as well as any other hand soap, though i'd be weary of using it as your food prep wash for let's say a restaurant. nice fragrance, and it doesn't leave any film after rinsed off. the bottle doesn't leak, and seals well. overall nice find, just wish the packets were a little cheaper...

You just add the powder to the designated amount of water, shake it up, and it turns into liquid soap.The soap itself feels nice on my hands and I haven’t had any irritation or adverse reactions. The instructions mentioned everything should dissolve within about 30 minutes, but mine still looked a little chunky until the next day. Once fully dissolved though, it worked perfectly fine and didn’t seem to affect the quality or potency at all.Also came with a really nice glass pump bottle that feels much nicer than typical plastic dispensers.

Soap is easy to make and prevents my hands from drying out

The soap kit is nice. The glass pump is sturdy and looks good, and the soap itself has a classic clean scent and feels smooth without a lot of suds. It cleans well without feeling harsh. Overall, a great hand soap option. The directions are a bit off, though. They say to add 12 ounces of water first then the powder, but if you do that, there’s not enough room for the powder and it can get messy. I’d recommend using a little less water — the fill line on the container is more accurate than the written instructions. Overall, it’s a good kit once you figure out the right water-to-powder amount.

I have the dish soap version of this product and really like it but this was just not quite as good for me. The scent is a little weird and I did find hot water works a lot better than the warm water recommended on the package, otherwise it’s a bit hard to get fully combined. I don’t love the smell of this. It’s not awful just not my favorite. It has good ingredients and leaves my skin feeling clean. I don’t love the color (a little pee-ish). Overall it’s a cool product, a great take on sustainable options and the bottle is very pretty. I would love to try a different scents with maybe a natural colorant to change the color.

I find Vove to be an environmentally friendly soap. It smells good and left my hands clean, but not dry. Regarding mixing, through trial and error I discovered that adding the soap when the bottle was just half filled with water was quicker and less messy. ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS Ingredients are 100% plant based, and include Water, coconut surfactants, plant-based thickener, glycerin, and a blend of essential oils. The product is plastic-free (except for the pump, which can’t be recycled), and the extremely lightweight refill packets mean a much smaller shipping footprint compared to pre-mixed liquid detergents (which suggests a smaller carbon footprint). SCENT: The “Mandarin, Geranium and Cedarwood” scent is a mild, clean scent when smelled close up, but it doesn't scent more than my hands. MIXING TIPS: I Recommend filling the bottle half way with water, adding the soap powder, mixing it and then adding water to the fill line. When I did it as instructed (filling the bottle with water and then adding the powder at the top), there wasn’t enough room to mix the powder easily.Neither method resulted in ready-to-use detergent within 30 minutes, but the first method dissolved noticeably faster and more evenly. When fully dissolved it looks like liquid soap. :) VALUE: The 3 pack refills cost about $3.63 apiece. While more expensive than the cheapest handsoaps in the short run, in the long run the benefits to the environment are probably worth it.

Got this Vove hand soap starter kit to see what all the fuss is all about waste with pre-mixed products for the environment. This starter kit comes with a glass dispenser with pump and three packages of powder to make the soap. You pour 12 oz. of warm water into the dispenser, add the powder into the bottle and shake, shake, shake. The powder mixes with the water and becomes a clear gel within an hour. The soap smells mildly of cedar and geranium, a nice combination. I used the soap and it seems to make my hands feel softer than before. Hopefully repeated use will keep them soft. The soap was easy to reconstitute, filling the dispenser to the wiggly line on the back. In the dispenser, the soap looks tinted due to the tint on the bottle. The price of refills makes this an expensive soap, but you are purchasing a high quality, environmentally friendly product.

This is a nice starter kit with a very nice-looking glass bottle. The refills seem a bit pricey, but the soap does last a long time. The soap has a very pleasant scent that is not overwhelming and is barely noticeable on your skin after rinsing off. The powder packets are hard to not make a mess with when refilling the bottle if you don't use a funnel. I did have some issues with clumping, but I think it was because I added a little too much water. You have to leave plenty of room to be able to shake the bottle and get the soap to fully dissolve. The pump works well, of course it is all plastic, so I'm curious how long it will last. Overall, it is fairly easy to use. It seems more novelty than anything else. I could see this making a nice gift.

This soap has a nice scent and is a good value since you basically mix your own soap. It works well for cleaning hands without an overwhelming scent. The pump bottle is simple and unassuming which I like.

This foams up nicely and the scent is subtle without being too much and does slightly linger on my hands after washing. The funniest thing happened which the spout has some hardened soap on it so when I used the pump it squirted the soap right onto my shirt so beware. I put the water in before the powder and that didn't work very well but letting it settle overnight let me be able to mix it. It is decently easy to set up and use while looking slick. I like the soap and how it feels but I am not sure how effective this is for getting rid of germs but it definitely works good for cleaning in general. I am iffy on the refills since it is a tad pricey.

Love the heavy glass container and the soap is moisturizing compared to other hand soaps I have used. My skin never feels dry after using it. You simply mix the powder in the packet with water and shake the container to mix it together. You leave it to sit for a bit and it fully emulsifies to an amber colored liquid soap. Report Helpful

This is a pretty good eco-friendly starter set of soap. At first it might seem like the powder doesn’t want to mix up completely, but if you let it settle on its own after mixing it will get to a good consistency. The quality of the soap itself is great. It lathers well, doesn’t cause skin irritation or dry out your skin and it has a very pleasant scent. Overall I would say that the soap is very effective in cleaning your hands. The glass dispenser that comes with the set is good quality, too! For someone wanting a plant based soap and wanting to stay away from plastic, this set is a good option and provides a pretty good value for the cost. Report Helpful

I picked this up for our hall bathroom because I prefer natural products when they’re reasonable, and I wanted something refillable that actually looks good on the counter. The glass bottle has a clean, modern look that fits nicely in the guest bathroom, and the scent is very subtle. You notice it when you’re using the soap, but it doesn’t linger. The mixing process is the problem. I shook the bottle four different times over two days trying to get the powder to fully dissolve, and it spent most of that time looking cloudy with clumps of odd goo floating around. Using the suggested 12 oz of water makes things worse. The bottle really isn’t big enough to hold all the water, the powder, and still insert the pump without spilling, so you almost have to use less water to make it workable. The packet also tears in a way that makes pouring the powder messy. Once it finally settles, the soap is thin and runny, not gel-like, and the pump feels pretty basic compared to how nice the bottle is. I’d also skip this if you wear contact lenses, since the citric acid can sting if it gets near your eyes. Four stars because the bottle looks great and the ingredients line up with what I try to use for my family, but I won’t be buying refills. There are other natural options that don’t take this much effort to get right.

I got this mostly out of pure curiosity and the desire for a nice glass soap bottle that isn't over priced. When I opened up the package to mix it all together I was honestly kind of skeptical because the soap comes as a powder you mix with a bottle, and the smell coming from the soap dust was pretty strong. There is a line of the back of the bottle to show you how much water to put in so I put the water first and then dumped the dust in (in hindsight though maybe I should have used a funnel, I made a mess even with just the corner of the packet opened) and shook it for as long as the directions said and then some just for good measure. It thickened up fast, and I mean FAST, so I wasn't totally convinced that it would mix well. It was pretty milky/cloudy looking but when I came back to check it later i was pleasantly surprised to see it had mixed together flawlessly and there was no sign of clumps or anything in it. I used it immediately and was really happy that the smell wasn't super strong anymore, it's a nice soft smell and I mostly get citrus with the cedarwood underneath. It lathered up good and after washing my hands a few times during the first day I could notice that my skin wasn't quite so dry, likely due to the aloe vera in it, and I am just really happy I got this now. It comes with 3 packages of the soap dust and with how much each one makes it should last me a good while before I need refills. The ingredients list is also pretty truthful from what I can tell, no mystery ingredients or man-made chemical preservatives, all of it is naturally deriven (I included a photo!). For just over 20 dollars this isn't a bad set at all and I already have refills saved so I make sure I get the right ones later.
