This is so nice. I LOVE the glass pump. It just feels like it elevates this to a classy product. and of course can be reused which is the point. It is easy to use, the size of the bottle is good, and refills work. Its gentle on skin, but cuts grease. It has a wetter than soap consistency but still cleans well. I love the mint smell, just smells very fresh and clean and light. IT is effective at cleaning and works well on my dishes. It doesn't leave my dishes or hands greasy. I like it a lot and that it feels better for the environment

I have been looking for a while for an alternative to the conventional washing up liquid, I was looking for something with natural ingredients, minimum plastic packaging but effective.This one ticks all the boxes, I ordered the starter pack, it comes with a very nice refillable glass bottle with a pump and 3 sachets, each sachet makes 350ml of washing up liquid, so similar to a traditional washing up liquid bottle.What I liked the most if that you can buy the sachets separately, making it affordable and environmentally friendly, no need to buy a bottle every time.I found the washing up liquid to be good quality, it cleans well, it was easy to dissolve, it foams without problems, it's easy to rinse, it cuts through oil and fat well and it smells very nice and fresh.I'll buy again, I may even try other products from this brand, I had a look and the have other eco friendly cleaning solutions.

I am absolutely thrilled with this dish soap starter set. The frosted glass bottle looks incredibly sleek and modern sitting next to my kitchen sink. It is a massive upgrade from staring at ugly plastic containers. The refill concept is brilliant and very easy to mix. You simply add the powder packet, fill the bottle with warm water to the indicated line, and shake it up. I was initially skeptical about how well a natural product would clean. However, this formula cuts through stubborn grease and stuck on food just as effectively as the leading harsh chemical brands. The scent is absolutely divine and leaves the kitchen smelling like a luxurious spa. I also really appreciate the addition of aloe vera because my hands never feel dried out after washing a large load of dishes. The sustainability aspect is what truly sold me on this product. Being able to reuse one beautiful glass dispenser forever while reducing plastic waste makes this an easy decision. After having used their shampoo bars for a while I'm glad to have finally tried the washing up liquid. It's one of the products with the cleanest ingredients I've seen and it's actually quite concentrated and just a few drops are enough to remove grease from dishes, overall good value and great for my skin and the environment

The Vove dish soap starter set is a great way to get into non-toxic dish soap to do your dishes. It is nice to have a heavy duty glass pump instead of non-reusable plastic bottles that just end up in the landfill. The Vove dish soap does not produce as nice a lather as I normally would like but it does a decent job cleaning the dishes. I have used all three packets of the provided dish soap and now I am reusing glass pump bottle for Seventh generation dish soap that I normally use. Report Helpful

I love that this soap is nontoxic and comparable in price to leading brands. This is such an easy swap to do so you don’t have to buy soap as often. My husband does the dishes and he says that it doesn’t create as many suds as he would like. He can’t tell if dishes are getting thoroughly cleaned or not

I love this dish soap set! It not only smells fantastic but actually works really well too. I’ve tried other eco-friendly options before and they didn’t really get a good sudsy lather but the Vove set does, excellently so. It really works well at getting dirty dishes clean without a gross residue left over. It’s made of good quality ingredients, and the liquid-free refill packets reduces any leakage issues as well as being a better value. The glass bottle is also really good quality. It’s made of thick frosted glass and the pump works well. The soap does tend to dry up and clog the top of the pump, but I think that’s normal and it’s just a simple matter of wiping it off. Overall I really love this soap set and find it an extremely great value. I look forward to getting some more from Vove.

ORIGINAL 3 STAR SUMMARY I found Vove to be a low-sudsing, environmentally friendly dishwashing detergent that was able to get minimally oily dishes “squeaky clean” using 2 pumps of soap per gallon of warm water. However, it did not consistently get oily or greasy dishes “squeaky clean.” Mixing was also not quite as simple as the instructions suggest. UPDATE AFTER ONE WEEK OF USE (Aha! Moment — increased from 3 to 4 stars): After additional use, I’ve found I can rely on Vove for roughly 75% of my everyday dishwashing. It still needs backup for heavy grease and oily plastics, and mixing it exactly as directed was awkward — though I’ve had much better luck adding the powder after filling the bottle halfway with water and shaking well. I also find it works more effectively when used full-strength on a sponge for spot cleaning. Despite Vove’s shortcomings, using its gentler, plant-leaning formulation most of the time -- instead of a heavy-duty conventional detergent -- feels like a win for both fish and the environment. Value- wise, I do go through it faster than heavy grease cutters, but I’m still comfortable with that tradeoff. (Original review follows) ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS Ingredients include coconut-derived surfactants, a plant-based thickener, citric acid, pH balancer, aloe vera, a natural preservative, and an essential oil blend. The product is plastic-free, and the extremely lightweight refill packets suggest a smaller shipping/carbon footprint compared to pre-mixed liquid detergents. SCENT The “Bergamot, Mint & Basil” scent is pleasant when smelled close up. The dishwater itself also smells good when smelled close up, but the scent doesn’t diffuse as far as my nose when I’m standing at the sink. MIXING (TWO METHODS TESTED) Method 1: (By the Book) I added a measured amount of water to the bottle, then poured in the powdered soap. There was no room left in the bottle for mixing, and the powder tended to clump and remain that way. To help it dissolve, I placed the bottle in a heavy glass container and periodically inverted it until mixed. Method 2: (Freestyle) I filled the bottle about halfway with water, added the powder, agitated well, then filled to the marked fill line. Neither method resulted in ready-to-use detergent within 30 minutes, but the second method dissolved noticeably faster and more evenly. DISHWASHING PERFORMANCE LIGHTLY SOILED DISHES I added two squirts (approximately 1 teaspoon) of Vove to roughly one gallon of warm water in a shoebox-sized basin. With low-grease dishes, I observed minimal foam around the edges of the basin, and most surfaces (metal, ceramic, and plastic) came out squeaky clean. OILY OR GREASY DISHES Using the same amount of soap with oily or greasy dishes produced no foam. Oil tended to form small puddles on the surface of the water, and cleaning results varied. Rinsed stainless steel sometimes came out squeaky clean and sometimes did not. Plastic surfaces consistently retained an oily feel. Increasing the amount of soap did not significantly improve results. FOAM AND WASH EXPERIENCE This is intentionally a low-foam detergent. While foam isn’t necessary for cleaning, I didn’t anticipate how visually reassuring it is to have wash water covered as it becomes cloudy and particle-laden. Without suds, that process is fully visible, which I personally found unpleasant. VERDICT (4 stars) I appreciate what Vove is trying to do environmentally, and while it isn’t a perfect replacement for conventional dish soap, it has become my everyday go-to for most dishes. I’ll keep a grease-cutting detergent nearby for heavier messes, but being able to use a gentler, plant-leaning option most of the time feels like a worthwhile step forward. IMAGES Photos show Vove mixed per instructions (with visible clumping and little room to agitate), and a second bottle mixed by filling halfway with water before adding powder and shaking -- which dissolved more smoothly. I really like the eco-friendly idea of refilling my dish detergent bottle with powder refills. The bergamot, mint, basil scent smells good, and the frosted glass pump bottle is very nice. With the starter set you get three refills packets so the price is good for three 12 ounce bottles of premium dishwashing liquid. I recommend using a funnel to put the fine powder into the bottle. My first opening on the refill was too big and I ended up spilling some powder. I tried the other side and that was a bit small so the powder clogged. I'll get it right next time by just snipping off a corner and not using the pre-cut slit they have on the side. Make sure you have warm water in the bottom of the pump bottle before pouring the powder in or it will cling to the bottle. That happened to me and I had to use a steak knife to stir it off. Don't fill the bottle all the way or you will not have enough room to shake it. There is a water line on the side, but I recommend going a bit below that and adding the last of the water after you've shaken it. It does take a little while to dissolve, and you're likely to have a few gel clumps that should go away overnight. It creates a thin gel that's light on bubbles, but seems to work fine.

I got both the dish soap and hand soap from this brand. I love them both but the dish soap is a bit better. It works better with closer to hot water than the warm that is recommended and I found things mixed better with distilled water versus tap water. I love reusable glass bottles but I also need products that work, smell nice and aren’t too inconvenient and this hits all of that for me. I love the scent of the dish soap. The soap does a great job of washing dishes clean, even cutting through oil pretty well. I love that you get an original use plus two refill in addition to the bottle, which should last several months at least. I love the minimal waste this product offers. Getting the pump to pop up took some figuring out but the key is to do it before you put it on the bottle. Overall this is a great set for a good price. Would recommend.

I really wanted to love this eco friendly dish soap system. The frosted glass bottle is very pretty. The instructions are clear. And the powders are packaged well so there is no leakage. Everything about the product has the greatest respect for our environment. I followed the instructions, exactly, for mixing the soap. It did not go as expected, unfortunately. Pouring the powder into the bottle was messy as the bottle opening is quite small and it was challenging to get the powder through the small opening without spilling it over the sides...which did happen. I then shook the bottle vigorously for 10 seconds as directed, and while it did not look well mixed at all, I trusted that within a few hours, it would become clear and unclumped as the box said it would. It did not. Not even close. 24 hours later, there were still large clumps in the soap. I had to try to break them up with the tubing from the pump and shake it more. I did this several times before finally getting the soap to become homogenous. It eventually did get there, but it took a lot more work than 10 seconds of shaking. So, the process of mixing the soap was less than ideal. But furthermore, in comparison with other dish soaps, I found this one to be much more dilute, needing to use a lot more because it doesn't last as long or stretch as far. Perhaps this is related to lost powder during the difficult transfer into the bottle. I love the concept here. But I feel there is room for some improvement.

I really like the concept behind this dish soap starter set, especially the refillable glass pump bottle and the plastic-free packaging. You get a high quality glass bottle with a pump top. With that you get three packs of a powder which when you mix with water forms a nice dish soap. It did take a few days for all the powder to dissolve, but the soap it makes is effective, smells nice and it say is non-toxic too. The bottle does not leak, and the only plastic part is the pump on top. I think it will eliminate plastic containers that would otherwise need to be disposed of. So nice to not contribute so much to a landfill. The soap works as well as any other, but I would not say its better. I am always looking for ways to reduce packaging and waste, and have switched to refillable foaming hand soaps, so i was excited to try the dish soap version. Overall, this is a good product with a few kinks to work out to be great. They provide a lovely glass bottle, which looks so chic on the counter. There is a fill line for water levels so you get the right concentration easily. The set comes with 3 refill packs, and I was able to find the refills on their own on amazon as well. The issue I have is that its a little challenging to mix, the container holds just 12 ounces, and if you put the powder in first it clumps and takes awhile to mix in. If you add it after the water, it makes a mess. Anyway, just takes more care to mix it up. Also, the cost of the refills is comparable to a container of dish soap, so it doesnt save much money, but it is eco friendly without being more expensive so that is a plus. I am a big fan of the Vove dish soap starter set mainly because of how good the scent is. It is a strong scent, so if you don't like strong scents, this may not be for you, but I absolutely love them. The dish soap is very easy to make since you just have to empty out the packet into the bottle and add water. Then you shake it up and that's all there is to it. It releases very easily from the nozzle and I haven't had any issues with any clogging or anything like that. It films quite well, and I'm pretty sure that will be pretty durable for the bottle. The only question is what will the refill process be like? So far, in terms of value for money, that seems to be perfectly fine since you can create a lot of soap with the provided packets. Hopefully, value for money stays high as long as the refill packets are easily available and affordable. I like that the pump mechanism does not require a significant pressure like some other soap pumps. Sometimes that can be a bit annoying when you only want a little bit of product and you have to push really hard in order to get a lot of product it inadvertently. I think that refilling soaps as opposed to continually buying new bottle pumps is definitely environmentally friendly, so I'm pretty happy about that. That quality of the bottle itself is pretty good, so I think that it should be durable and last for a long time.
